Videlicet is system to enable researchers to extract information from and search in 18th century American newspapers, to unlock information at a scale not previously possible.
It uses AI and LLMs to extract text and tables from documents, allows researchers to experiment with custom extraction prompts, run custom evaluations, and makes extracted information searchable and readily available through both full-text and vector embedding-based semantic search (using a custom fine-tuned embedding model).
